Last Day at Finca

Hello family and friends in los estados unidos! Today was our last full day at Finca la Anita. We started our day at the regular time and had a great breakfast. It was the regular rice and beans, we also had toast and marmalade with cacao beans for the adventurous... :) After that, we got ready for a complete day of science starting at eight thirty. That means a lot of coffee. Today the groups finished up collecting data and made our final presentations. It was kind of bittersweet wrapping up our projects.
At eleven thirty we started our break for lunch. Today was spaghetti and homemade garlic toast so everyone was excited. After that we had a short break before finalizing our presentations. All the groups did a practice run with Dr. Pinto before a coffee break. Along with coffee we had lemony cookies which were great. Then we got back in the classroom and started our presentations. All of them were very interesting and kept our attention the whole time. At the end of each we asked a lot of questions and Pinto and Ibrahim gave us great feedback.

After the presentations we had to say goodbye to Pinto and Ibrahim. The sunset tonight was absolutely beautiful setting between the volcanoes. Tonight we had a nacho bar with flavorful toppings. For dessert we had a key lime with whipped cream.  After dinner we all split up. Some of us went to the mall and came back with piles of candy while others headed back to their cabins.

While writing this blog entry a huge bug dove from the light towards Mrs. Moisei. We all freaked out and when Eddie held the bug up to Shea she ran across the room screaming. Eventually, Shea scooped it up with a notebook and threw it out the door. Now everything is calm in Finca la Anita again. We are all antsy to get the the beach. HA.

Hope your homes are less buggy than ours. Have a good night and Pura Vida!

Hi Mom, Dad, Lolly, Dan, Nini, Basil and hopefully some friends too! Costa Rica is simply stunning. The culture, views, and learning was all that I hoped plus millions more! It has been so refreshing to be "off the grid" for once. (I heard about the comment you made on the post Mom, I just saw the photo :p) I hope America has good weather for tomorrow! Take some pics of the 4th for me and have fun!!! Love all of you!
